For High School Students (Freshmen–Seniors)
Discover the art and science of glass in this hands-on, beginner-friendly summer camp! This 5-day immersive experience runs Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and is designed for students with little to no prior experience.
With a small class size of just 6 students, participants receive personalized instruction in a real working studio environment. Throughout the week, students will be introduced to essential glassblowing tools, safety practices, and foundational techniques.
Under the guidance of experienced glass artist and instructor Ryan Poignon, At The Poignon Project 227 E Perry St. Tiffin, Ohio
students will:
- Learn how to safely handle glassblowing equipment
- Explore core techniques used in shaping molten glass
- Gain an understanding of studio workflow and professional practices
- Create their own glass pieces, such as marbles and jewelry
This camp offers a unique opportunity to learn a traditional craft while working in an authentic business setting. By the end of the week, students will leave with both their handmade creations and a deeper appreciation for the art of glass.
